Don't miss out on a skill you've wanted to learn!  Upcoming classes in the next week or two:

Beginning Knitting - starts Sunday, April 22nd, 1-3pm.  2 sessions are only $25.  Only 1 opening left!! 

Magic Loop Toe Up Socks - 2 at a time - starts on Tuesday, April 24, from 3:30-5:30, 3 sessions only $35.  2 openings left!  It's a great time to learn how to do socks.  It's a small project that won't fill up your lap as your knitting, so you’ll stay cool during those hot summer days!  Socks are a great project for traveling since they’re small.

Backwards Knitting -- Monday, April 30th, 6-8pm, $15.  Learn to knit backwards so you never have to purl again and you don't have to move big projects back and forth, since you won't be turning your work to purl back!

Don't miss out.  Get ready for summer by having some new skills to take with you as you take your summer adventures, whether they be out of town or out in the backyard.

Come and Get it!

Many of you have been patiently waiting.  Well, wait no more!  Two colors each of Katia Triana and Katia Triana Lux have come in and are waiting for new homes.  Also, four colors of Joy Metallic are anxiously waiting to be knitted and wrapped around beautiful necks.  Hurry and get yours before they’re gone.  One skein makes a beautiful scarf.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars.  Our first Mid-Iowa Yarn Shop Hop will be Wednesday, April 25 through Saturday, April 28.  You’ll receive discounts and register for door prizes at all six participating shops.  And if you visit all six in the four days, you will be registered to win the Grand Prize worth $300 in yarn supplies.  We don’t want you to miss this special event so get it on your calendar early!

New Knit-A-Long -- Don't Miss Out

We have started a new monthly Knit-A-Long (KAL) that you won't want to miss!  We will be walking you through a new pattern every month from Cascade Yarn's new 60 MORE Quick Knits, using sport weight yarn.  Each month Janet or Mary will pick a pattern from the book and step through the process in one two-hour class.  of how to complete it.

Next:  Pattern #21 Fingerless Mitts -- Monday, March 5, 11am - 1pm

Join us to go through some fun patterns in this book and get a head start.  We'll be here to help if you run into questions as you knit-a-long.

Super Sunday Sale!

Eat your Turkey, then join Knitting Next Door for a big sale!

A Big Thank You! Charity Knitting. UFO this Friday.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all you wonderful fiber artists (knitters, crocheters and more) who worked so hard to produce 184 purple hats for Blank Hospital's Period of Purple Crying Campaign!  184 hats!  We have such an amazing community!


Our next charity project is Drake-Knit for the Needy.  This is a winter project for Iowa Homeless Youth Shelters founded by a Drake University student.  Come in and see the details and help the youth stay warm this winter.


Don't forget to join us for the UFO Knitting Night this Friday, October 28, 5:30 - 8:00pm.  I have my UFO and costume ready.  How about you?

Join us for a fun night to catch up and bring that unfinished project you stashed in the back of your closet.  Stop procrastinating and join everyone else who have unfinished objects (UFO) to complete.  Feel free to bring a snack and/or drink, and come in costume (optional) to celebrate the Halloween holiday.


February Lady Sweater KAL
Join us the 2nd & 4th Thursday of October, November and December as we make the February Lady Sweater.  The knit-a-long (KAL) is from 5-7pm.  Come and start anytime. We can all help each other along to completion. We will end with a February Lady Sweater party in February - must come with sweater on! Time to be announced.
